Maslow’s hierarchy of needs focus on describing the stages of growth in humans and uses patterns to map human motivations.
Self-actualization
Forms the basis of the perceived need for self-actualization
(e.g painting, pictures)
Esteem
Presents the normal human desire to be accepted and valued by others
(e.g. fame, respect, and glory)
Love and belonging
Impact individual’s ability to form and maintain emotionally relationships
(e.g. friendship, intimacy, family)
Safety needs
Protecting the individual from unilateral authority
(e.g personal, well-being and financial security)
Physiological needs
Are the most prepotent of all the other needs and are required for surviving
(e.g air, water and food)
